One of the dogs I fell in love with on the hunt for what turned out to be Otis. Dozer was in the worst pound I've ever seen, in Longview, WA in the very back cell in what must have been death row. Someone had cut his ears all the way off with what appeared to be rusty scissors. He had been in there for months and was going crazy, chewing himself, losing hair, very thin. By the time I met him he was a LOT worse than in this photo. I don't like to preach about what others should do, but I have to say here that every time someone buys or breeds another dog and forgoes adopting one in need of a home, another dog like this, or like Otis, gets put to sleep.

There is a serious issue at hand in the world today, people, that Otis would like to draw your attention to. Our friend, the great celebrity satire artist 14, is being threatened by none other than Paris Hilton's legal team for alleged defamation of character (I know, "Uh, what?", and since when do people take celebrity cartoons as The Truth, and like this information is... new or shocking(?)) and for insinuating that Ms. Hilton has "loathesome diseases". Hee hee. Read all about it here. (Scroll down to the post called "The Simpleton Life, starring Paris and Nicole".) Apparently Conan Obrien even talked about this whole thing on TV last night... Enjoy!

I think my mom's Bull Terrier, Opus, deserves an entire post devoted to his nuts. Tell me these are not impressive nuts, especially for a dog who so small. They are. Don't even get me started on his butthole. It's... epic.
And yes, they are always this red. Look out for THE NUTS!
